Is it Really a Sign?

A penny on the ground, a random feather, numbers on a license plate these are some typically signs us human beings look for comfort and reassurance. I recently had one of these so called signs pop up on my computer, at least I thought it was one. It was for a job opportunity. Although I wasn’t really looking for a new job, seeing this made me question if this could be perhaps a sign it was time to move in a new direction.

Then the anxiety kicked in. The what if’s, how to,  maybe’s, all those voices which make you feel afraid and confused. I even went so far to research the possibility, checking out if I were to apply what kinds of things would I need to know.

It would be later, sitting in my office meditating I would hear a very clear voice in my head stating, That was not a sign, that was your fear (ego) which got you to look closer. Signs don’t work like that.

I immediately breathed a sigh of relief, and as this occurred I got goose bumps up and down my arms. Later I would return to my computer only to find a new offering, opportunity right in line with what I was creating in my inbox. Was this all connected?

Here is what I have learned about signs, they are gifts not directions. Most often they are there to tell you, to keep going, as you are being guided and supported on your path. Signs are nothing to be afraid of, but rather something to pay attention to. You see since most signs come from another realm, they are there to bring you comfort and peace.

Please feel free to share some of your experiences with signs below.

Blessings on your journey,
