Everyone Can Speak To Spirit and Here is How

As I was preparing to teach a workshop at Kripalu Yoga & Health Center, I decided to take a walk to the labyrinth on the property to help ground and center myself. That’s when something interesting happened.

Before entering the labyrinth, I took off my shoes so I could walk barefoot. About twenty steps in, I suddenly felt this surge of energy run through my body. It felt like tingles up and down my legs. Then spontaneously I started reciting out loud, the Ho’oponopono chant.

The Ho’oponopono chant is a Hawaiian chant that repeats these words and phrases: I love you, I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you. I placed my hand on my heart and continued to recite it until I completed the labyrinth.

Feeling calm and peaceful, I went along to teach my workshop. Later that evening, I decided to attend an artist presentation (also at Kripalu). One of artists created a video presentation on the labyrinth. In the film, she was walking the labyrinth barefoot, hand on her heart, reciting the Ho’oponopono chant, just like I did that morning. When I saw this in the video, I got chills up my spine.

This is when I knew, my walk wasn’t just about grounding and centering. I was Speaking to Spirit.

Speaking Spirit is the ability to sense, read and translate energy.

  1. Quiet Your Mind.

    Through mindful, calming techniques such as meditation, chanting and walking in nature you can quiet mental chatter. This can help you tune into, listen and receive energetic messages.

  2. Pay Attention.

  5. Relax.
